Public reading at City Heights Performance Annex
Cast (L to R): Nadia Mehretab, Brit Franke, Victoria Antoinette Garcia, Claudette Santiago, Philip King Sugui, Kaileykielle Hoga, and Kayla Adorno (stage directions)

On Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30pm, I had the pleasure of attending the first in-person public reading of The Goddess of Lost Things, a new immersive play for young audiences that my friend and collaborator Mara Palma and I have been concocting for the last few months.

An ensemble of six brought to life more than 20 different characters in front of a packed house at City Heights Performance Annex. Director Johamy Morales shared early design work by Cristian Amigo (sound), Anna Pannicia (puppetry), and Shaun Tuazon (scenic). The program featured original cover art by Maddie Morales. And the evening concluded with an audience discussion led by dramaturg Carlenne Lacosta. If you missed it, you can check out the archival livestream.

Special thanks to Bocón artistic director Crystal Mercado, producer Alejandra Villanueva, asst. producer Kayla Adorno, stage manager Karla Garcia, asst. dramaturg Pamela Sevilla, graphic designer Reanne Lacosta, and the entire livestream team (Kevin and Jonathan) for accompanying us on this fantastic journey.
